Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Think Pair Share learning model on students' critical thinking skills. This research is quasi-experimental research with Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIPA 1 & 2 MAN 3 CIREBON, with MIPA 1 as the experimental class with 33 students receiving treatment with the think pair share learning model, while the MIPA class 2 control group with 33 students received treatment with conventional learning research models consisting of independent variables, dependent variables, and moderator variables. From the calculation results, it can be concluded that the score of students' critical thinking skills by applying the Think Pair Share learning model about classification of living things, namely the MIPA 1 class has an average value of 75.00 and the MIPA 2 class has an average value of 64.18. Think Pair Share learning model is effective to be applied in biology learning compared to conventional methods such as lectures because in this learning model students are required to be active in learning.
