Abstract

Although tobacco is a widely cultivated crop in Trucuk District, Klaten Regency, many young people and students have limited knowledge about the benefits of tobacco, except for its use as a cigarette ingredient. This limited knowledge of young people and students occurs because there is no media as a source of information about the benefits of tobacco in Trucuk District, Klaten Regency. Thus, an ethnobotanical study of tobacco in Trucuk District needs to be developed into an e-booklet. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ethnobotanical profile of tobacco in Trucuk District, Klaten Regency, and the feasibility of the e-booklet that has been developed. The method used in this study is a qualitative mixed research approach, combining ethnographic research and R&D, with a 4D model for e-booklet development. The results of this study revealed seven additional uses of tobacco, beyond its use as a cigarette ingredient, including as an insecticide, animal repellent, traditional medicine, a trading commodity, fuel, a component in betel chewing, and a complement to traditional ceremonies and rituals. The e-booklet development results obtained a feasibility percentage of 91.1% from material experts, 91% from media experts, and 94.96% from public response. The study concluded that there are seven benefits of tobacco beyond its use as a cigarette ingredient, and the e-booklet's feasibility rating was 92.93%, which is classified as suitable for use.
