Abstract

Mujair fish (Oreochromis mossambicus) belongs to fish that are resistant to environmental conditions
and are easy to find. which if exposed to heavy metals and consumed in the long term will cause neurotoxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic effects even to death. Cd2+ and Pb2+ are harmful heavy metals that are toxic and can pollute aquatic organisms. This study aims to determine the levels of Cd2+ and Pb2+ in mujair fish in ponds in Pekalongan City. Samples came from Jeruksari, Panjang, and Slamaran ponds. Analysis of heavy metal content using the AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) method. The results showed that mujair fish in Jeruksari, Panjang, and Slamaran ponds had Cd2+ levels 0,07; 17,38 and 0,02 mg/Kg, as well as Pb2+ levels of 10,26; 6,08 and 8,62 mg/Kg. Cd2+ levels in Panjang ponds exceeded the threshold set by BPOM which was 0,1 mg/Kg, while Pb2+ levels in the three ponds exceeded the threshold set by BPOM, namely 0,2 mg/Kg.
