Abstract

Textile industry wastewater contains organic and inorganic pollutants which could be indicated by
relatively high levels of COD, BOD5, turbidity. If this waste water was directly discharged into the environment, it would pollute the environment and endanger human health and other living things. Textile industry wastewater treatment with electrocoagulation method aimed to replace or save chemicals as coagulants and flocculants that could cause environmental pollution and the price continues to increase. Wastewater treatment with this method could produce wastewater or treatment effluent with levels of COD, turbidity, heavy metals, pH below or at least equal to the environmental quality standard (BML) Research results on textile wastewater treatment using Fe and Al and SS (Stainless) electrodes Steel) at a current density of 0.25 to 1.25 A/dm2 with a processing time of 35 minutes obtained COD levels with a process efficiency greater than 80% and turbidity levels with greater efficiency 90%.
